Hello, MGWA Members! I trust you’ve enjoyed the bounty of a lush, mild Minnesota summer. If you’re like many of us, Fall is a favorite and we’re eagerly awaiting the return of crisp mornings and sunny hikes. The abundance of American White Waterlilies (pictured) here in southeast Minnesota this summer were beautiful and served as a great family teachable moment in how they work as part of the overall native, complete ecosystem, dependent on our invaluable water resources each year.
This summer was no slow-down in MGWA action, with a fun social event and a great deal of planning. We’re excited to bring you a new MGWA Board structure soon that will optimize our volunteer time and energy. We continue to modernize the functions of the organization with new registration and operations platforms, streamlined management tools and engagement opportunities to bring us all closer together in our mission to educate and serve all Minnesotans.
As we roll out news on these initiatives, we hope to hear from you virtually and in-person at our next social event! We plan to host a casual get together each quarter, hitting each quadrant of the Twin Cities to reach our Metro members and then head to Greater Minnesota for greater reach. Have a favorite place? Want to host or sponsor an event? Let us know!
Please be sure to share our extended abstract submission date of 9/15 with your colleagues and we look forward to seeing you this Fall! Find our fresh new social media feeds to share the MGWA action!
