Candidate Statement:
Over my 25 plus years I have had the beneficial experience of working on many diverse projects all over the world around various aspects of groundwater related issues. Mostly involving investigations, cleanups and developing policies to protect these resources. Most recently I have returned to consulting and have been given several opportunities to be involved and engaged in various aspects within the environmental professional community based here in Minnesota. I have been greatly impressed with all the engagement, professional development opportunities and regulatory policy progress to protect and improve one of Minnesota’s most valuable asset, groundwater. I am on the steering team drafting the MPCA Remediation Division PFAS Guidance document, which will be helpful component in PFAS investigations and cleanup. I graduated with a BS in Geology with a Hydrogeology minor from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls. I also have a Master in Business Administration for Bethel University. I think we are entering a critical time and important moment to continue driving education, develop appreciation and protect our groundwater resources, since access to clean water is a cornerstone of Minnesota values. The Minnesota Ground Water Associations commitment to help guide policy that serves the best interest as a collaborative voice of scientific reasoning by having a contingent of research and discussions of our environmental professions is a unique and valued effort. It will be a great pleasure to give back to this industry and the Association that is so well respected in Minnesota and support policy around groundwater, and an honor to be able to do so.
