The MGWA Outstanding Service Award is awarded to individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to groundwater in Minnesota, particularly as it relates to MGWA’s primary objectives.
Contributions to groundwater may be in the form of an undertaking that has furthered the cause of groundwater in Minnesota as a vital resource. This includes technical or scientific achievements, efforts in disseminating information and education about groundwater, and achievements in the public policy arena for example. This award is appropriate for individuals who demonstrate a cross-fertilization of leadership, sound science, education and public policy.

Nominations
Nominations can be made at any time. MGWA typically makes up to one award per year in the Fall. The nominator of the award and the nominee do not have to be members of the association. Nominations should consist of:
- Name of nominee, occupation, affiliations, contact information
- A brief resume/career details
- Description of contributions the nominee has made in the field of groundwater showing why this person is deserving of the award
- Name of person nominating and their contact information
